Once you have completed our unique training program, you will use your skills as a healthcare professional to assess cases of people who are applying for a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) and complete fair and accurate reports as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
Our roles offer you the chance to change direction whilst providing you with the opportunity to maintain and develop your clinical registration, skills and knowledge, and work within a structure Monday - Friday contract.
There are lots of opportunities for development and progression within the PFAS team including Clinical coaching, training roles and Clinical Support Manager roles.
As a Disability Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face. By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means you will assess how our claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.
Salary: £39,500.00 Type: Permanent Full time: 37.5 hours With proven experience of working within a medical background you will; · Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports. · Interpret clinical information and evidence. · Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct. · Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
We would love to hear from you if you have: · A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below) · An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge. · Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office
Essentials Qualifications (without these your application cannot be considered) Nurses: · Qualified Nurse RGN, or dual qualified RMN/RNLD · Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
Physios/OTs: · Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist · Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) · Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
Experience we look for: A minimum of 12 months HCPC or NMC experience. - Orthopaedic experience (acute and elective)
- Pre-assessment experience (surgical/orthopaedic)
- Experience working with patients with both mental health and physical problems and Neurological settings.
- Broad range of experience in different areas as would have more clinical knowledge
- Worked in ITU units
