We’re seeking a Junior OT Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Control Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Operational Technology (OT) security principles, with a focus on protecting critical infrastructures like Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plants and related products.

The Junior OT Cybersecurity Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures to safeguard our organization's OT environments. Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting with execution projects addressing technical specifications provided by the project engineering team.

2. Collaborating with R&D teams on managing and testing security measures for new products.

3. Supporting the proposal team by contributing to documentation on control systems cybersecurity measures during the bidding phase.

Additionally, the Junior OT Cybersecurity Specialist will be involved in standardization processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing instructions to commissioning teams.

Tasks and Duties

· Provide technical support and collaborate with Project Execution, Project Development, R&D, and Commissioning teams.

· Assist in designing and implementing security architectures for OT environments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems.

· Assist in preparing documentation, including cybersecurity technical specifications and hardware architecture diagrams.

· Participate in risk assessments and contribute recommendations to enhance the security posture of OT systems.

· Assist in developing and implementing incident response plans for OT incidents.

· Participate in the investigation and resolution of security incidents, under supervision.

· Assist in conducting regular audits of OT infrastructure to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply patches and updates to mitigate potential risks.

· Support in implementing and managing security monitoring tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.

· Collaborate with the IT security team to ensure a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity.

· Assist in integrating security best practices into system development and maintenance processes alongside commissioning and service teams.

Technical Requirements

· High-school Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in informatic engineering, cybersecurity or related fields;

· Knowledge in OT cybersecurity, with a focus on securing critical infrastructure;

· Basic knowledge of OT protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC) and communication systems;

· Familiarity in programming languages such as Python, C, C++ or C#;

· Exposure to security tools such as IDS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.

· Proficiency in English.

Nice to have (if any):

· Knowledge of PLC SW development tool such as S7, TIA PORTAL - the knowledge of Siemens PLC suite will be considered;

· Knowledge of stationary electrochemical storage technologies is a plus;

· Knowledge of how to read E-plan electrical CAD schemes is a plus;

Location: Hybrid remote (from Italy) and HQ in Milan, Piazzale Lodi, or Cosio Valtellino (Sondrio). Availability to travel is required.
